The dimensions given in the table below and in the size guide image refer to the chest measurement of the wearer.  The actual measurements of the mid layer will be larger so that there is enough room to comfortably go round you and any other layers you want to wear.  For example if your chest measures 44 inches, you should buy a large and then when you receive your mid layer the actual circumference will be several inches more than that so that it’s not literally skin tight!
