48 tournaments, 27 countries, 1 champion… This year’s European Tour was Awesome, and now that it’s reached its spectacular conclusion, let’s take a look back at some of the Road to Dubai’s finest moments.
5. We’ll kick things off with Tommy Fleetwood’s magical albatross during the BMW PGA Championship. The young Englishman became only the third player in tournament history to achieve the feat after holing his second shot on the fourth at Wentworth. Not too shabby!
4. With composure beyond his years, who can forget rookie Matt Fitzpatrick’s nerveless display at the British Masters last month? The 21-year-old collected his maiden professional title in some style with an impressive two-shot win. And what better way to celebrate than Subway with the lads!
3. What about Ernie Els’ submission for the worst putt in history? The Big Easy stunned us when he missed from one-foot at the Dunhill Links Championship – if it’s good enough for a four-time major winner, it’s good enough for us!
2. And how about big Monty topping the European Senior Tour? The former Ryder Cup captain did us proud when he won over Tom Watson for his first-ever victory in the USA. He might be a moody, old codger at times, but he’s Scottish, so we love him!
1. Dubbed ‘the most interesting man in golf’, it’s not hard to see why. With his predilection for the finer things in life, Miguel Angel Jiménez just oozes cool – and he’s very good at golf. Remember when he set the European Tour record for the most holes-in-one (10) at Wentworth. Get on your dancing shoes!
