YouTube is amazing! It’s not just golf professionals or that ‘helpful’ member at your club that can give you advice on your golf swing, every golfer with a video camera & a bit of spare time can now give virtual golf lessons & share their top golfing tips! Below are a couple of our favourites…
Colin Montgomerie – Top tips
Yes, we know, he hasn’t won a Major… but Colin Montgomerie did fly the flag for Scotland by winning the European Tour Order of Merit seven years in a row. So, in our books, he knows his way around a seven iron.
But we can’t help thinking that he looks a little, well … ‘stumpier’ than usual in this video. Just remember Awesome golfers, always, always, “stay loose”.
The Anti-Pro, a.k.a The Maverick.
While we expect it’s only Mrs Anti-Pro that calls him the Maverick, we like this guy. Aside from his fantastic choice of golfing attire in the second half of the video, we love his view that “99% of golf instruction is utter nonsense” – explained rather less eloquently by daddy Anti-Pro…
Little Tommy
If Tiger Woods was to go head-to-head with this three-year-old tomorrow, our money would be on the little fella. Tommy is clearly in a different league when it comes to driving accuracy. It’s clear we could all learn a lesson from Tommy. Awesomely inspiring stuff.
Jack Nicklaus – One Swing
Jack Nicklaus is widely regarded as the greatest golfer of all time. With 18 majors, he’s had his hands on more silverware than Uri Geller. So when the Golden Bear tells you how to slap a white ball around a field, you sit up and listen. We chose this video because we love how simple his advice is.
How not to do it …
It’s common knowledge that we can learn from failure. But by watching the good guys fail, we can also make ourselves feel a lot better about that shank which ‘may have’ landed on top of Barry Jones’ new Porsche during last week’s monthly medal.
