Halloween Golf - Pumpkin
With Halloween just around the corner we have trawled the spookiest parts of the internet to find some of the scariest scenarios in golf & what we found was truly terrifying… We have some nightmare golf lies, located a ‘genuinely’ haunted golf course & picked out some of the most terrifying tee shots in the world. So get the pumpkin lantern out, turn off the main lights & give this Halloween inspired article a read.
1. The haunted golf course… 
Every golfer will have had a nightmare round that they will want to forget, but this golf course is actually haunted (apparently!)
The legend is that the 13th hole at Church Stretton Golf Club, England is home to a ball-snatching thief of a ghost. Numerous golfers have tee’d off & watched their ball land safely in the middle of the fairway, however when they arrive at where their ball should be, they find it has mysteriously disappeared… Spooky.

Some blame the areas local bird population, but who has ever seen a bird fly off with a golf ball?! The only logical explanation is it must be a ghost… Or perhaps these golfers aren’t quite as accurate as they think.

So next time you slice a drive deep into the woods we recommended taking your playing partner along with you & don’t venture to deep into the darkness…

2. Terrifying tee shots…
We get apprehensive teeing off in front of the club pro at our local club championships, so these tee shots really do send shivers down our spine.

It only measures 132 yards from tee to green but considering the green is only 78 foot long, completely surrounded by water & during events has 11 cameras devoted to it, you can see why it might leave some players shaking. 

Course officials estimate 140,000 balls end up in the water each year; so if you ever get to play TPC Sawgrass be sure to load up on golf balls for the 17th!

If you dont like heights this hole probably isn’t for you… At 395 yards it is the longest par 3 golf hole in the world, takes tee shots 20 seconds to land & the tee can only accessed by helicopter!

No one has ever scored a hole-in-one (surprise surprise), but fifteen golfers have managed a birdie & even cooler than that, Morgan Freeman (yes, that Morgan Freeman!) has managed to par it. What a guy!

3. Nightmare golf lies…
A plugged ball in a bunker is nothing compared to these terrifying golf lies…
Victor Dubussion’s ‘Escape from the Desert’: Playing from the fairway is far too mainstream for one of the coolest golfers on the tour. So when Victor Dubussion’s ball ended up in a spiky cactus surrounded by rocks, he decided to play it as it lay. Below is the outcome:

Ian Poulter’s Nightmare: Ian Poulter found himself with a lie from hell but thought he had a swing at it. Fair play to the man! Check out how it ended below:
